ナイジェリアと日本のミックス。

ブラックミュージックを中心に、ナイトクラブに留まらず国内有数のホテルやレストラン、スタジアムに招聘され、持ち前のグルーヴ感で幅広い観衆の心を掴む。

LAGOSAPOOLの語源は2つの単語からきている。

一つ目が"LAGOS(ラゴス)"

父方の国であるナイジェリアの旧首都名。

日本であれば京都であり、そこからは古き”歴史”や”過去”を自然と連想する方は多いはずだ。

ラゴスも同様、全てが嬉しい過去ではないが、その歴史から生まれた遺伝子を音楽に紡げることに感謝の意を表した単語である。

二つ目が"SAPEUR(サプール)

語源はフランス語であり、植民地争いの渦中にいたコンゴの方々が平和への思いをファッションで表現したいという思いから誕生した紳士たちの集団。

給料の8割を洋服に使うその日暮らしの彼らは

”どんな時も心は貧しくならない”という。

そんな人間味と短い人生への決意に感銘を受け、自分の名前の一部として背負わせていただいた。

"壮大な歴史が創ってきた世界”に感謝し、今日も彼は人々と音楽を交わしているだろう。

LAGOSAPOOL
A mix of Nigeria and Japan.

Centered around Black music, they have been invited not only to nightclubs but also to some of the most prestigious hotels, restaurants, and stadiums in the country, captivating a wide range of audiences with their innate sense of groove.

​

The name "LAGOSAPOOL" is derived from two words.

​

The first is "LAGOS."

This is the name of the former capital of Nigeria, the country of my paternal lineage.

In Japan, it would be like Kyoto, a name that naturally evokes thoughts of "history" and "the past." 

Similarly, Lagos may not have a completely joyful past, but it is a word that expresses gratitude for being able to weave the genes born from that history into music.

The second word is "SAPEUR."

The origin of the word is French, and it refers to a group of gentlemen in Congo who, amid the colonial struggles, expressed their desire for peace through fashion.

Living day by day, spending 80% of their salary on clothing, they believed that "no matter the circumstances, the heart will never become poor."

Moved by their humanity and determination in their short lives, I have adopted a part of this name as my own.
